Soaring Through Migration
On Sunday, November 15, the Art and Culture Center celebrated the marvelous, fall migration of the monarch butterfly during Free Arts! Family Day at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood! During the activity, guests learned about the jaw-dropping journey, lasting thousands of miles, that these delicate critters take from as far north as Canada all the way to Mexico each November. Then they proceeded to make their own adventuring arthropod creation. Follow the video to create your own to share with family and friends!
During this free event, guests were also able to enjoy the three current exhibitions in the safe and inspiring Art and Culture Center/Hollywood galleries. The exhibition currently on view is: 2020 Florida Biennial: NOW is the time - the time is NOW
If you missed the activity, the Center has created a step-by-step instructional video on how to create your papel picado using items in your home.
