PART-TIME STAFF POSITIONS

Elementary Art and Drama Instructors ARTastic Collaborations

Responsibilities: The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is looking for a creative Elementary art and a drama instructor to work with our ARTastic Collaborations program. Instructors will introduce a variety of art and drama techniques to ages 6-10. Classes meet once a week on Wednesdays from 4-6 pm. For the first half of the afternoon students will work with the art instructor on projects focused on drawing, painting, and mixed-media art techniques that are inspired by history, science and math. The second half of the lesson will include drama instruction in improvisation, storytelling, music, and movement. This class is designed to encourage individual student creativity, build concentration, and increase self confidence for speaking in front of peers. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on common core standards. Each session ends with an art and a drama performance at our Mic Check show on December 14.

Choreographer for Stage Kids

Responsibilities: Looking for an enthusiastic and creative show choir choreographer for our afterschool Stage Kids program. In this program students work with our vocal director and choreographer to be immersed in performance techniques such as voice, acting, and movement while gaining skills in character development, projection, articulation, creative thinking, and concentration. With guidance, the choreographer will work with the vocal director to produce a show centered around a pre-selected music medley. Each session ends in a final performance for family and friends on December 14, 2019.

Responsibilities: Looking for an enthusiastic and creative show choir choreographer for our afterschool Stage Kids – Encore! program. Stage Kids – Encore! teaches students how their musical theater skills can be taken to the next level! This vocal ensemble is for students who love to perform. The Choreographer will help students gain dance skills and stage presence. Both the Choreographer and Vocal Director will produce a show centered around a pre-selected music medley. Each session ends in a show-stopping performance for family and friends on December 14, 2019.

Instructional Designer

Responsible For: Research, design, and development of innovative PreK-12 learning lessons that support the Distance Learning programming

Position Type: Contracted, project-based

Schedule: Flexible

Reports to: Director of Education and works with the Education Department

Primary Function

With direction from Center staff, designs and develops instructionally sound, fully integrated curriculum and learning materials for specialty educational programming. Lessons will integrate the arts with core subjects and will follow appropriate age-based learning standards.

Candidate Requirements

Candidate must have experience designing educational lessons and working with interdisciplinary education. Interest in technology and interactive learning experiences will be of benefit. Classroom teaching experience also a plus. A Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred. The candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to meet timelines and specific goals.

Maintenance and Custodial Associate

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Maintaining and cleaning HC-PAC weekly. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of ACCH facility and storage areas, as needed.

Salary Range: $10.00-$12.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 6-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations and Events. Department supervision by Deputy Director

Duties

Under general oversight by the theater manager, it is the role of the Maintenance and Custodial Associate to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules at HC-PAC including, but not limited to office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, classrooms, kitchen, patio, lobby/café, technical booth, stage, entrance way, arts school, and exhibition galleries. The custodian will also be responsible for performing additional maintenance duties such as general building and grounds oversight, small repair jobs and other duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of custodial duties. Previous experience greatly desired. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn the specific custodial standards for each commercial facility. The candidate must have excellent time management, organizational skills, be detail oriented, as well as possess an ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass a background check.
