Curator of Exhibitions

Reports to: Executive Director

Primary Function

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for the visual arts, which can identify talent and produce quality art exhibitions and related events. The Curator of Exhibitions, who reports to the Executive Director, will be responsible for developing an overall concept and program of the Center’s exhibitions and corresponding programs.  As part of the management team, the Curator will also participate in working collaboratively on all areas relating to exhibitions, education, fundraisers, marketing, events, etc.

Education Coordinator

Responsible For: Coordinating education programs, operations, and teaching personnel. Creating integrated curriculum

Type: Full-time, salaried. $30,000 to $40,000 based on qualifications. 40 hours a week. Some flexible scheduling with evening and weekend hours necessary. Health and paid time off benefits available for this position

Reports to: Deputy Director

Primary Function

Coordinates educational programming. This programming includes classes, after school programs, school partnerships, Distance Learning, camps, workshops, group tours, community events and other special projects. Creates integrated curriculum for new and existing programs

Duties and Responsibilities
Candidate Requirements

Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, educational arts management, or other related field and a minimum of two years of experience working with education, curriculum development and instructional supervision. Teaching experience or teaching capability is required. Experience integrating programs in more than one arts discipline is greatly desired. Previous experience with Distance Learning or knowledge of advanced technology would be a plus. The candidate will work directly with children and families, so a strong sense of initiative, commitment, responsibility, dependability and creativity is required. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed. Exceptional communication, problem solving, attention to detail, and diplomacy skills required. Excellent organizational and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public is necessary. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google platforms, as well as computer operating systems is required. The candidate must be able to work flexible evenings and weekends for events/activities that relate to their area of coordination. Level 2 background check and clearance is required.

PART-TIME STAFF POSITIONS

Theater Coordinator

Responsible For: Assists with Management of the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC), special select events

Position Type: Approximately 20-25 hours per week, part time. Flexible schedule necessary, especially evenings and weekends

Schedule: Must be available Sundays 7:00 am-2:30 pm, Wednesdays 1:00-9:00 pm. Additional hours based on event schedule and needed office hours.

Reports to: Overall supervision, Deputy Director. Works directly with Manager of Theater Operations and Events and Technical Director

Primary Function

Assists Manager of Theater Operations and Events with supervising operational and administrative aspects of all events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center as well as rental activity for the Center and some special events at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood galleries and Arts School. Assists Technical Director with technical component of some events and projects.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an interest in performing arts and facility management and at least 1 year of previous experience in a similar role. Excellent organizational, time management and computer skills as well as an ability to work well with the public is essential. Candidate must have strong office and administrative experience, attention to detail as well as an ability to proactively solve problems with positive outcomes. Candidate should also possess the ability to multitask and work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. The candidate must work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Experience in technical theater a plus but not required as training will be provided.

Salary Range

$11-$15 an hour based on qualifications.

Instructional Designer

Responsible For: Research, design, and development of innovative PreK-12 learning lessons that support the Distance Learning programming

Position Type: Contracted, project-based

Schedule: Flexible

Reports to: Deputy Director and works with the Education Department

Primary Function

With direction from Center staff, designs and develops instructionally sound, fully integrated curriculum and learning materials for specialty educational programming. Lessons will integrate the arts with core subjects and will follow appropriate age-based learning standards.

Candidate Requirements

Candidate must have experience designing educational lessons and working with interdisciplinary education. Interest in technology and interactive learning experiences will be of benefit. Classroom teaching experience also a plus. A Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred. The candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to meet timelines and specific goals.

Outreach Program Assistant

Responsible For: Assistance with outreach and special programs with the Education Department

Liaison with: The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood administrators and staff, students, the community, parents, teachers, artists, and other organizations

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours a week, schedule varies based on program needs

Rate: $10- $14 an hour based on qualifications and experience

Reports to: Deputy Director

Primary Function:

Assists with coordination of educational outreach programming at the Art and Culture Center including: Free Arts! Family Days, community events, Distance Learning, school partnerships, and other special projects

Candidate must possess an Associate’s degree and/or currently enrolled in a degree seeking program in early education, elementary education, art education, museum studies, or other related field and a minimum of two years of experience working with children, families and/or education. The candidate must have excellent organizational and administrative skills as well as an strong sense of diplomacy and ability to work well with the public.

Maintenance and Custodial Associate

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Maintaining and cleaning HC-PAC weekly. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of ACCH facility and storage areas, as needed.

Salary Range: $10.00-$12.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 6-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations and Events. Department supervision by Deputy Director

Duties

Under general oversight by the theater manager, it is the role of the Maintenance and Custodial Associate to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules at HC-PAC including, but not limited to office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, classrooms, kitchen, patio, lobby/café, technical booth, stage, entrance way, arts school, and exhibition galleries. The custodian will also be responsible for performing additional maintenance duties such as general building and grounds oversight, small repair jobs and other duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of custodial duties. Previous experience greatly desired. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn the specific custodial standards for each commercial facility. The candidate must have excellent time management, organizational skills, be detail oriented, as well as possess an ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass a background check.
