Hallandale Symphonic Pops Orchestra: Broadway Hits

The Arts Aspire program promotes strong leadership as well as college and career readiness for students and young adults ages 14-21. Personify

June 7 - August 18, 2019

When inanimate objects reflect cultural concerns, historical narratives, and playful humor, it becomes clear that artists project their impressions of history into figurative works to better understand contemporary society. The sculptures, puppets, and installations in Personify engage new audiences and ask for participation. Art-making activities will be available for gallery visitors and tour groups in an immersive installation by Jim Hammond, marionettes will be on view and engaged with for the opening of Pablo Cano’s work, and an installation about the life and inventions of Nikola Tesla by Jeanne Jaffe will hang delicately from the Immersive Gallery ceiling.

Let's Go Hollywood!

We would like to share our excitement and gratitude following Tuesday’s Special Election, in which residents in the City of Hollywood approved all three items on the Let’s Go Hollywood Ballot Referendum. As a result of this vote, the City has allocated funds through the Parks, Open Space, Recreational and Cultural Facilities category to expand educational, performance and gallery spaces at our city-owned campus at 1650 Harrison Street.

Join us for the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood’s 22nd Annual Cuisine for Art fundraiser, which will take place in the newly constructed Event Center at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

This fundraiser features elected officials and community leaders serving as Celebrity Waiters during an exciting and entertaining evening. Guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer, vodka cocktails, a three-course dinner, live entertainment, and awards presentation.

Join us over a Moscow Mule as we listen to “Those Bits of Data Will Consume You” and the “Automated Algorithmic Chance Routine” while Rafael Vargas Bernard reads about Brock Pierce’s life and business endeavors, encouraging us to engage with his kinetic sound sculptures. Rafa has been selected to be one of our 2019/2020 solo artists for an exhibition series funded by the Mauer Family Foundation.
