John DeFaro is a Queer self-taught visual artist and designer. Currently based in Miami, John was first influenced as a youth in an apprentice type of mode from his one-on-one connections with Jane Wilson, Roy Lichtenstein, and Nabil Nahas amongst other renowned makers on Eastern Long Island, NY. His practice has moved in new directions in installation, drawing and painting that return him to his initial impulses focused on the South Florida environment, nature and found materials. His work has been exhibited at the Miami-Dade Kendall Campus Gallery, the Boca Raton Museum, Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, Miami-Dade Public Library System, and the Art and Cultural Center.
