Samantha Salzinger obtained her MFA from Yale University and is a recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship in 2000, 2009 and 2019. Her work resides in the permanent collections of Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz, Arturo and Lisa Mosquera, Yale University, and the Perez Art Museum, to name a few.

“Neutral Gravity Field” is part of the “Terraforming” series. The images consist of fabricated large-scale dioramas constructed out of materials, such as Styrofoam, plaster, and dirt. These environments encourage the spectator to stand in subjective relation to the landscape. The resulting images consider the human experience and ponder our origins, our destiny, and our place in the universe.
