John DeFaro is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer. DeFaro, currently based in Miami, was first influenced as a youth in an apprentice type of mode by his one-on-one connections with Jane Wilson, Roy Lichtenstein, and Larry Rivers who were his neighbors in the Hamptons, New York. His work has moved in new directions in installation, drawing, and painting that return him to his initial impulses focused on environmental activism, nature, and found materials. His work has been shown at the Miami-Dade Kendall Campus Gallery, the Boca Raton Museum, Parrish Art Museum, Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, Fred Snitzer Gallery, and the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood. In 2020 John was awarded the Americans for the Arts COVID relief grant.
