This delightful participatory exhibition, created by Bits ‘N Pieces Puppet Theatre, documents the puppeteers’ creative process from conception of a show through rendering, construction, rehearsal and production. In addition to the giant body puppets, the inclusion of many smaller puppets, character costumes, and selected set pieces permits viewers to experience close up the entire range of artistry which goes into the making of the characters and sets as it can never be seen from the audience.

These entries were selected from more than 600 works submitted by 211 Florida-based artists. 37 outstanding artists were chosen by this year’s juror Claire Breukel, Executive Director of Locust Projects.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice is an exhibition of female artists who investigate the image of women in popular culture. Through the lens of a camera, these artists explore such subjects as the Israeli army, “mommy and me” classes, and beauty pageants. The images evoke the raw, the venerable, and the delicate moments in between the restrictions attached to gender identity. Curated by Samantha Salzinger.
