Vickie Pierre: If You Win Me, I'm Forever

Opening reception: Friday, May 1, 6 - 9 pm
Exhibition runs through June 7, 2009

Inspired and informed by fantasy, design, and decoration, as well as childhood memories, Surrealism, and textile design, Vickie Pierre’s work is often intimate, inviting and aesthetically beautiful. This inspiration has manifested itself in years of accumulating source materials such as vintage children’s books, dishware, textiles and found objects.

For her upcoming solo exhibition, Pierre will create a site-specific installation in which the main components include vintage Avon perfume bottles from the 1970’s elegantly paired with vintage Syroco brand sconces. Together these elements evoke sentiments of femininity, romanticism and decadence with a hint of storybook charm.
