Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Fri, Jan. 26 – Sun, March 25, 2007

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice is an exhibition of female artists who investigate the image of women in popular culture. Through the lens of a camera, these artists explore such subjects as the Israeli army, “mommy and me” classes, and beauty pageants. The images evoke the raw, the venerable, and the delicate moments in between the restrictions attached to gender identity. The show will include work by Gail Albert-Halaban, Rachel Papo, and Colby Katz. Curated by Samantha Salzinger.
