Presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the 21st Annual Cuisine for Art fundraiser will takes place in the newly constructed the Hard Rock Event Center. The Center is the first nonprofit to have an event in this new space! Featuring elected officials and community leaders serving as Celebrity Waiters, guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer, vodka cocktails, a three-course dinner, and live entertainment. This year’s honoree is Ina Lee, owner of TravelHost Magazine of Greater Fort Lauderdale.

PLUSH

As an annual installation dedicated to Pleasurable, Lush, Utilitarian, Subjects of Humanity, PLUSH is a tactile mindscape. Textiles are inherently connected to the domestic environment. In the U.S., fiber art has often been mislabeled as craft or “women’s work,” however, in many countries, textile production is considered men’s labor.

ORIGIN - Sri Prabha

Slipping between resin pours, meditative states, and explorations into the cosmos through everyday objects, Sri Prabha challenges our sense of gravity and simultaneously asks us to find our center. His coalescing galaxies are fluid yet contained within their solid resin forms. Poetically, “Anthropocene 1” renders a discarded sneaker as an animalistic object with gritty toenails poking out from the geometric treaded sole. The object is captured from above as though it is a specimen of another species, a disruption in the natural order. Curated by Laura Marsh, discrete objects and poetic photographs complement the immersive. Prabha will install an encompassing meditative environment for “Nightlands 3,” an oscillating video that explores our connection to the oceans and our dependency on the water cycle.

Arts Aspire Summer Programs

The Arts Aspire program promotes strong leadership as well as college and career readiness for students and young adults ages 14-21. Arts Aspire activities at all three levels take place in a professional environment in which participants interact with business and community leaders, cultural organizations, non-profits, K-12 schools, universities, as well as families and patrons who take part in Center programs.

Over $27,000 raised at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood Tenth Annual Hot Hollywood Glam fundraiser

The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood hosted more than 200 attendees at its galleries during the 10th anniversary of Hot Hollywood Glam: Hooray for Hollywood. The fundraiser, held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, netted over $27,000 for the Center’s arts program.

2018 Florida Biennial - Open Call to Artists

Deadline: June 1, 2018

As a ninth juried Art and Culture Center / Hollywood open call, the 2018 Florida Biennial is open to artists residing in the state of Florida working in any medium. This edition focuses on exploring multicultural identities, discussing ecological issues, and imagining a robust cultural climate for Florida within the global economy. The exhibition opens September 14 from 6-9 pm and will run through Oct. 21, 2018.

Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:30pm

Session 2: January 11 – April 14, 2018 (No class on March 29)
Performance: Saturday, April 14, 2018, 6:30 pm

Stage Kids puts students on center stage to perform musical selections ranging anywhere from the classics to today’s top hits! Students will be immersed in performance techniques such as voice, acting, and movement while gaining skills in character development, projection, articulation, creative thinking, and concentration. Each session will end in a show-stopping final performance for family and friends.
