Sinisa Kukec: And Yet Another Wayward Landscape

Sept. 11, 2010 – Jan. 9, 2011
Opening Reception: Fri., Sept. 10, 6-9 pm
Live musical performance at the opening reception by Richard Vergez.

Including undulating biomorphic forms made of porcelain or plaster, Sinisa Kukec’s exhibition features sculptures growing from found objects, the walls, floor, or ceiling, some of almost monolithic scale and others of undersized dimensions, frequently conflicting with the historically scripted media of sculpture, craft, and design. Kukec says, “My artwork creates and inhabits a sad and beautiful space of interpretation, that at one moment encourages conscious critical dialogue and at another draws on its own subconscious, intuitive logic.”
