Rocky Grimes: On the Run
February 13 – March 27, 2016
Opening Reception: Friday, February 12, 6 – 9 pm
Self-taught, Miami-based print artist Rocky Grimes combines photo copies, serigraphy, abstract constructs, polished material, and found objects in works that document the process of discovery while in a heightened state of physical activity. Drawing on the DIY ethos of the underground punk community, On the Run creates a language of its own by melding the physical with the contemplative qualities of metaphysics and existentialism. Grimes’s work has been shown on three continents and been featured in such publications as Identity, Juxtapoz, and Swindle, among others. He has printed live in many unique locations including MoCA Miami, Project Trade Show (New York City and Las Vegas), and Scope Miami.
