Now in its 10th year, OceanDance continues with a FREE dance performance on Hollywood Beach. Arrive early and don’t forget to bring your beach chair, as this annual event cannot be missed.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, the show starts at 8:00 pm, while the Wednesday, Dec. 31 performance begins at 9:30 pm. There will be two 10-minute intermissions for both performances, each of which will be followed by a laser lights show. OceanDance 2008 takes place on Hollywood Beach at Johnson Street. After the Wednesday, Dec. 31 performance, there will be a special countdown to the New Year.
Performing this year will be New York City-based Abakua Afro-Latin Dance Company, which is known internationally for the revolutionary choreography of its own brand of Latin dance, “Afro-Latin Funk.” This dance style is a dynamic fusion of mambo (salsa) with elements of Afro-Caribbean folklorico dances.

Directions and Parking
Take Hollywood Blvd. east to A1A. Head north along A1A (Ocean Dr.) about a half mile to the light at Johnson St. Turn right at Johnson St. You may park in the Johnson Street parking garage ($10 flat rate) or at any parking meter. However, note that the Johnson Street surface lot adjacent to the garage will be reserved for VIP parking. Click here for map.

A VIP package is available for sale for both nights of OceanDance. Guests will enjoy complimentary cocktails and reserved seating at a table on the beachside deck. At midnight on New Year’s Eve, everyone in the VIP area will receive party favors and a glass of champagne to ring in the New Year.
