This event is free and open to the public; however, VIP seating is available. Anyone interested in purchasing VIP tickets may check the availability of tickets on-site at the OceanDance registration tent located just south of Johnson Street on Hollywood Beach one hour prior to performance. Tickets purchased on-site will not be reimbursed for parking.
The tradition of OceanDance, now in its eighth year, continues with this FREE dance performance on Hollywood Beach. Past years have featured performances by such critically acclaimed companies as Mikhail Baryshnikov and the White Oak Dance Project, River North Chicago, Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico and Koresh Dance Company. As a special part of this celebration the performance on New Year’s Eve will be followed by fireworks. Be sure to bring your beach chair, as this is an event not to be missed.
OceanDance 2006 will feature the critically acclaimed Philadanco, which is celebrating 37 years of providing exceptional dance performances and training to its many communities throughout the world. Known for its passion, power, skill and diversity, PHILADANCO is one of most sought-after companies in the United States. With pieces set to the music of Earth Wind & Fire, Steve Reich and Lauryn Hill, PHILADANCO’s company of highly skilled dancers promises to deliver a dramatic program that is sure to have great audience appeal and win unanimous critical praise.
A VIP package will be available for sale for both nights of OceanDance. Guests will enjoy reserved parking, complimentary cocktails from the open bar while seated at a table on the beachside deck. At midnight on the New Year’s Eve, the sky will be aglow with fireworks as everyone in the VIP area will receive party favors and a glass of champagne to ring in the New Year.
On Dec. 30th and 31st, the VIP area opens at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. respectively. VIP seating costs $50 per person, $90 per couple, or $160 per table of four on Saturday, December 30th and $75 per person, $140 per couple or $260 per table of four on Sunday, December 31st.
