A free cultural event beautifully staged on Hollywood Beach at Hayes Street, featuring Dance Kaleidoscope, Indiana’s premiere dance company.

OceanDance 2002, presented by the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood and Hollywood Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is the Center’s premier free cultural event held the first weekend every December. OceanDance serves to bring dance performances of superior artistic caliber free of charge, to large and diverse audiences. Recognizing the importance and vitality of dance, the Art and Culture Center strives to deepen the appreciation of modern and traditional dance through this event.

Now in its 4th year, OceanDance is a nationally recognized cultural event. In the past, the event featured such luminaries of the dance world as principals of the Miami City Ballet, the Dance Theater of Harlem and Mikhail Barishnikov and his White Oak Dance Project.

This year’s featured dance company is Indiana’s magical Dance Kaleidoscope. Audiences of Dance Kaleidoscope will marvel at the incredible measures its dancers will take to stretch their supple, athletic bodies into seemingly limitless positions. They will appreciate thoroughly the inspiring, energetic choreography that typifies the troupe’s performances. This Indianapolis-based troupe demonstrates the legendary Martha Graham language in its performances at OceanDance 2002.
