Weekday Visitor Services Coordinator

The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is a multi-disciplinary organization, which features contemporary art exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and offers more that 80 unique education classes or program sessions for youth in the visual and performing arts. The Center also manages a 500-seat performing arts theater.

Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:30 am-5:00 pm. Some partial-day or full-day Wednesdays may be added. During the summer months of June, July and August, additional hours will be necessary including some Mondays.

Salary Type: $10 to $12 per hour. Hourly, Part-Time. Partial benefits included.
Liaison with: Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, general public and staff
Reports to: Assistant Director

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Open and close the building. Follow opening and closing list of procedures
  • Greet and direct visitors. Provide appropriate information, as needed
  • Assist with the process and management of memberships and lists
  • Answer and route incoming calls in an efficient and professional manner
  • Responsible for inventory of promotional materials and storage items
  • Liaison between Center and outside entities and partners
  • Process and distribute mail
  • Maintain the appearance of lobby, outside and inside common areas, galleries, library, and kitchen
  • Coordinate food and beverages as well as set up and breakdown for meetings and events. Maintain inventory of kitchen and facility supplies
  • Responsible to keep accurate records and coordinate community service and some volunteers for general duties as well as special events
  • Responsible for following financial policy and procedures related to cash bank, checks and credit card processing
  • Providing administrative support to staff
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with customer service and general administrative experience working in a professional setting. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Candidate must possess the ability to multitask and work well with a variety of personalities, while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational, time management and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public are also essential. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and superior organizational skills with attention to detail are required. Intermediate level of proficiency with computers and in MS Office (Word and Excel) is also necessary. Must be able to pass a background check.

Event Assistant

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and
Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Assisting clients and management with events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center, Art and Culture Center, special select events

Salary: $10.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 10-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as supervisor of event
  • Assist client with necessary set up and break down of event
  • Ensure event coordination practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements
  • Answer inquiries and maintain the highest customer satisfaction
  • Work through challenges or issues with diplomacy and grace
  • Ensure client needs are met during the preparation and day of the event
  • Coordinate operational assistance for events and communicate relevant event information to facility and/or volunteer staff
  • Continually assess and monitor event in order to revise and update event operations as needed
  • Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met. Negotiate necessary conversation and paperwork if additional time or equipment is needed.
  • Assist with concessions including overseeing product sales, inventory, and reconciliation of money
  • Properly open and secure the building following strict guidelines
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Candidate Requirements

Custodian

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and
Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Assist in maintaining and cleaning HC-PAC. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of ACCH facility and storage areas, as needed. Cleaning the HC-PAC and ACCH in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.

Salary: $10.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 5-15 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Liaison With: ACCH management, staff and volunteers

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Duties and Responsibilities

It is the role of the Custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules at HC-PAC and ACCH including, but not limited to office areas, bathrooms, booth, stage, entrance, storage areas, classrooms, kitchen, patio, fountain, lobby/café, arts school, and exhibition galleries. The custodian will also be responsible for performing additional duties such as general building and grounds maintenance, small repair jobs, deep cleaning projects, and other duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of custodial duties. Previous experience greatly desired. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn the specific custodial standards for each commercial facility. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, as well as an ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass a background check.

Sound Technician

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center

Responsible For: Assisting Technical Director in running analog soundboards for theater events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC) and Art and Culture Center (ACCH).

Salary Range: $ 15.00 per hr Contractor /Part-time, On-Call position

Reports To: Technical Director; Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Primary Function: Assist with running analog sound board for events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) along with event coordination for the Art and Culture Center (ACCH) and some special events at the Center galleries and Arts School.

Duties:

  • Working knowledge of analog sound boards
  • Running analog sound boards for a variety of shows, stage productions, and special events.
  • Monitor and Front of House mixing capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge in microphone techniques
  • Ability to run cables and secure microphones in a safe and professional manner and as event requires
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein and other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience effectively running analog soundboards. Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of microphone techniques. Candidate should also possess the ability to work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential. A specific background in theater is desirable. Candidate should be able to lift 25 lbs. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Must be able to pass a background check.

Light Technician

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC)

Responsible For: Assisting Technical Director in running ETC light boards for theater events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC)

Salary Range: $ 15.00 per hr Contractor /Part-time, On-Call position

Reports To: Technical Director; Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Primary Function: Assists with running light cues for events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center

Duties:

  • Hang, install and focus lighting fixtures for stage productions
  • Program ETC board cues for a variety of productions and events
  • Run board for the duration of stage productions and apply transitions and changes appropriately
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein and other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience effectively programming and running ETC light boards. Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of conventional stage lighting. Candidate should also possess the ability to work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential. A specific background in theater is desirable. Candidate should be able to lift 25 lbs. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Must be able to pass a background check.

The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic instructors to work with students of all skill levels in a specialized area of study. Instructors will introduce a variety of techniques during private or small group instruction. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on State Standards.

Qualifications and Qualities for all teaching positions
  • 3 or more years experience working with the specific age group for which you are applying. Certified teacher a plus
  • Punctual and reliable with attention to detail
  • Ability to interact positively with children, parents, and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Positive and strong classroom management
  • Experience creating lesson plans and curriculum for subject being taught
  • Must pass background check
