Instructor Positions
Education Coordinator
Title: Education Coordinator
Type: Part-time or full-time possibility, Salaried. 32-40 hours a week. Mid 20’s to $30,000
Responsible For: Coordinating education programs, operations, and personnel.
Liaison with: Art and Culture Center of Hollywood (ACCH) administrators and staff, students, parents, teachers, artists, the general public and other organizations.
Reports to: Assistant Director
Primary Function: Coordinates education programming. This programming includes classes, after school programs, school partnerships, summer camps, workshops, community events and other special projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and supervise comprehensive education programs. This work includes the development of integrated programs and curriculum between and across departments.
- Responsible for teaching some programs.
- Implement and coordinate programming including workshops, classes, and special projects.
- Coordinate registration for all classes and special programs. Keep thorough records of registrations using Excel.
- Create and supervise the implementation of lesson plans for programming. Assure all curriculum is connected to next Generation Sunshine State Standards, Common Core Standards, and/or National Standards.
- Assist with recruitment and supervision of qualified teachers, artists, and assistants.
- Work with the ACCH management team to develop new and expand existing programs.
- Work with grant writing staff and Assistant Director to provide ideas, scheduling, curriculum, and supplemental materials for funding opportunities.
- Contact schools, families, and communities to promote existing and upcoming programs.
- Review and approve written materials (press releases) relative to educational programming.
- Communicate with parents, schools, and the community about current and upcoming educational opportunities and programs.
- Monitor and purchase supplies required to implement programs within budget.
- Create and implement other educational opportunities that help support the mission of the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.
- Serve as a liaison for the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood at necessary meetings and public forums.
- Provide reports regarding the status and accomplishments of programs.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
Candidate Requirements:
Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education or other related field and a minimum of three years experience working with education, curriculum and staff supervision. Teaching experience is required. Experience in more than one arts discipline is greatly desired. The candidate will work directly with children and families, so a strong sense of initiative, commitment, responsibility, and dependability is required. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed. Exceptional problem solving and diplomacy skills required. Excellent organizational and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public, is necessary. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as computer operating systems is required.

Summer Camp Musical Theatre Director
The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic and creative musical theatre directors to teach in our Broadway Actors and Broadway Actors Advanced Summer Arts Camp program. The director will introduce acting, music, dance and technical techniques to students ages 8 to 15 or 12 to 18 depending on the camp. With guidance, the director will create a curriculum and will use a copyrighted production kit. The four week session runs Monday through Friday, full day.
Qualifications and Qualities for position
- 3 or more years experience working with the specific age group and discipline for which you are applying. Experience directing youth musical productions a necessity. Certified teacher a plus but not required
- Punctual and reliable with attention to detail
- Ability to interact positively with children, parents, administrative staff and coworkers
- Talent to make strict rehearsal schedule a fun, creative learning experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Positive classroom management
- Must pass level 2 background check

Summer Camp Drumming Instructor
The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic and creative percussion instructors. The right candidate will work as a team with a second instructor to teach a week-long camp. The instructor will introduce percussion, rhythm, drum design, and music theory to students ages 8 to 15. With guidance, instructors will create curriculum to keep students engaged and learning. The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic and creative Visual Art Instructors to work with our Young Artists Summer Arts Camp program. The instructor will introduce a variety of art techniques to students ages 6 to 12. With guidance, the instructor will create a curriculum based on Next Generation State Standards. Each session culminates in an exhibition. The two week session runs Monday through Friday, in the afternoon 1:00 pm-4:00 pm.
