PART-TIME STAFF POSITIONS

Weekend Visitor Services

Location: Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, Hollywood, Florida

Total Hours Per Week: 13-16 hours

Weekend Position: Saturday and Sunday 11:45 am-4:15 pm work gallery hours plus opening and closing responsibilities. Also, one weekday working 4.5 – 7 hours-currently Wednesday. Exact day and schedule will be determined based on candidate. During summer months of June, July and August, additional hours may be needed.

Salary Type: $10 to $12 per hour. Hourly, Part-Time.

Liaison with: Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, general public, artists, families, and staff

Reports to: Assistant Director

General Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with customer service and general administrative experience working in a professional setting. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be friendly, self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Candidate must possess the ability to multitask and work well with a variety of personalities, while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational, time management and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public are also essential. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and superior organizational skills with attention to detail are required. Intermediate level of proficiency with computers and in MS Office (Word and Excel) and Google platform is also necessary. Must be able to pass a background check.

Custodian

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and
Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Assist in maintaining and cleaning HC-PAC. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of ACCH facility and storage areas, as needed. Cleaning the HC-PAC and ACCH in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 5-15 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Liaison With: ACCH management, staff and volunteers

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Duties and Responsibilities

It is the role of the Custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules at HC-PAC and ACCH including, but not limited to office areas, bathrooms, booth, stage, entrance, storage areas, classrooms, kitchen, patio, fountain, lobby/café, arts school, and exhibition galleries. The custodian will also be responsible for performing additional duties such as general building and grounds maintenance, small repair jobs, deep cleaning projects, and other duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of custodial duties. Previous experience greatly desired. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn the specific custodial standards for each commercial facility. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, as well as an ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass a background check.

Sound Technician

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center

Responsible For: Assisting Technical Director in running analog soundboards for theater events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC) and Art and Culture Center (ACCH).

Pay Rate: $ 15.00 per hr Contractor /Part-time, On-Call position

Reports To: Technical Director; Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Primary Function: Assist with running analog sound board for events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) along with event coordination for the Art and Culture Center (ACCH) and some special events at the Center galleries and Arts School.

Duties:

Candidate Requirements:

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience effectively running analog soundboards. Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of microphone techniques. Candidate should also possess the ability to work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential. A specific background in theater is desirable. Candidate should be able to lift 25 lbs. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Must be able to pass a background check.

Light Technician

Responsible For: Assisting Technical Director in running ETC light boards for theater events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC)

Pay Rate: $ 15.00 per hr Contractor /Part-time, On-Call position

Reports To: Technical Director; Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Primary Function: Assists with running light cues for events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center

Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential. A specific background in theater is desirable. Candidate should be able to lift 25 lbs. Teaching positions

Elementary Art and Drama Instructors

The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is looking for enthusiastic and creative Elementary art and drama instructors to work with our ARTastic Collaborations program. Instructors will introduce variety of art and drama techniques to ages 6-10. Classes meet once a week in 6 week sessions. For the first half of the afternoon students will work with the art instructor on projects focused on drawing, painting, and mixed-media art techniques that are inspired by history, science and math. The second half of the lesson will include instruction from the drama instructor on improvisation, storytelling, music, and movement. This class is designed to encourage individual student creativity, build concentration, and increase self confidence for speaking in front of peers. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on common core standards.

Dates and Times:
Wednesdays, 4 – 6 pm
Session1: November 1 – December 13 (No Class Nov 22)
Session 2: January 10 – February 14

Qualifications and Qualities for position

• 2 or more years experience working with the 6 – 10 age group. Certified teacher a plus but not required
• Talent to create unique lesson plans that comply with common core standards.
• Punctual and reliable with attention to detail
• Ability to interact positively with children, parents, administrative staff and coworkers
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
• Positive classroom management
• Must be able to pass a background check

The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic instructors to work with students of all skill levels in a specialized area of study. Instructors will introduce a variety of techniques during private or small group instruction. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on State Standards.
