Ceramics Instructor

The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood is looking for a qualified ceramic instructor who has experience working with adults for a program starting in February 2012. Instructor is required to have knowledge and experience of kiln operations. The program takes place on Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm in the Center’s Arts School.

Qualifications and Qualities for position

• 3 or more years experience working with adult population
• Background in visual arts holding at least a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree is a plus
• Knowledge and experience in kiln operations
• Punctual and reliable with attention to detail
• Ability to interact positively and be diplomatic with students and coworkers
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
• Experience creating curriculum for subject being taught
• Must pass background check

Visual Art Instructor

The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood is looking for a qualified visual art instructor who has experience working with preschool (ages4-6) and elementary students for an ongoing program. Instructor will introduce a variety of mediums by incorporating contemporary art. The program takes place on Mondays from 1 – 4:30 pm in the Center’s Arts School.

Qualifications and Qualities for position
  • 3 or more years experience working with the specific age group (Preschool and Elementary) for which you are applying. Certified teacher a plus
  • Background in visual arts holding at least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Punctual and reliable with attention to detail
  • Ability to interact positively and be diplomatic with children, parents, and coworkers

Creative Connection Instructors

The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood is seeking visual and performing artists from the Baby Boomer generation to present educational activities to youth as part of its new Creative Connection program. Creative Connection engages retired and soon-to-retire individuals to participate in arts projects that result in community improvement and social change. Artists will introduce a variety of techniques to at-risk students ages 6-17 at partnering social service organizations in Broward County. With guidance from Center staff, artists will create their own curriculum based on Sunshine State Standards used in Florida public schools. We are looking for a variety of artistic disciplines. The stipend paid will be project based and is a competitive rate.

Qualifications and Qualities for Creative Connection Positions:
  • 10+ years or more experience working with the specific age group and discipline for which you are applying. Certified teacher a plus

The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic voice, piano, violin and guitar instructors to work with a new music program. Instructors will introduce variety of musical techniques during private or small group instruction. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on Sunshine State Standards.

Event Coordinator

Supervision of box office and ticket sales for the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center. Event Supervisor for rental events as needed.

Under management of the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center is seeking a client focused Event Coordinator. This position will focus in two areas – Supervises all box office ticketing and front of house service needs of rental events occurring at assigned Art and Culture Center of Hollywood facility including: supervise box office staff operations or coordinating event operations as assigned.

Brief Description

Box Office
• Act as box office supervisor during all ticketed events held at facility.
• Assist with box office telephone orders; ensure the accuracy of transactions as well as positive customer relations.
• Act as tier 1, box office technical support for all ticketed events to resolve seating, will-call, and online sales issues.
• Responsible for all box office operations during events; coordinate with management, assessing and monitoring events in order to revise and update all ticketing services as needs change.
• Operate all box office equipment where necessary.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Event Supervisor
• Run all front of house needs for rental clients.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for events occurring at Art and Culture Center of Hollywood facilities.
• Ensure clientele is satisfied with services and meet expectations.
• Administer any last minute additional services addendums in conjunction with the Technical director.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year supervisory experience. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel within a Windows environment and ability to learn new software. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and knowledgeable of the performing arts and cash handling control procedures. The candidate must have excellent organizational and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Relocation expenses not reimbursed. This is an on-call, part-time hourly position.
