Custodian

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HC-PAC) and Art and Culture Center of Hollywood (ACCH)

Responsible For: Thoroughly maintaining and cleaning the HC-PAC facility. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of ACCH facilities as needed.

Salary Range: $10.00 per hour. No guaranteed hours, but usually range from 5-15 hours per week. Flexible schedule as needed. Primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Liaison With: ACCH management, staff and volunteers

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations & Events

Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Theater Manager, it is the role of Custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules at HC-PAC and ACCH including, but not limited to office areas, bathrooms, storage areas, classrooms, kitchen, patio, fountain, lobby/café, booth, stage, entrance, arts school, and exhibition galleries. The custodian will also be responsible for performing additional duties such as general building and grounds maintenance, small repair jobs and other similar duties.

Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of custodial duties. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, punctual, dependable, and willing to learn the specific custodial standards for each commercial facility. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, as well as an ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.

Event Assistant

Location: Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, Florida (ACCH)

Responsible For: Assist clients and managerial staff with events at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC), Art and Culture Center (ACCH), and special select events.

Salary Range: $ 9.00-10.00 per hr Contractor /Part-time, On-Call position

Reports To: Manager of Theater Operations and Events

Liaison With: ACCH staff and management, clients, general public, artists, volunteers, children, teachers, vendors

Primary Function: Assist with aspects of events occurring at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center along with event coordination for the Art and Culture Center and some special events at the Center galleries and Arts School.

Duties:

  • Ensure event coordination practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements
  • Assist facility staff with event coordination to maintain the highest customer satisfaction
  • Answer inquiries for events as needed; Assist with Box-Office and ticketing needs
  • Act as event coordinator, as needed, during HCPAC and ACCH events
  • Ensure client needs are met during the preparation, walk-thru, and day of the event
  • Coordinate operational assistance for events and communicate relevant event information to facility and/or volunteer staff
  • Continually assess and monitor events in order to revise and update event operations as needed
  • Assist with concessions including overseeing product sales, inventory, and reconciliation of money
  • Assist with informational materials during the event for distribution to current and potential clients
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein and other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of one year’s experience effectively working with event or coordination and an ability to proactively work with customer and clients to ensure positive outcomes. Candidate should also possess the ability to multitask and work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Excellent organizational, time management and administrative skills as well as an ability to work well with the public are also essential. A specific background in theater or special event coordination is desirable. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn new software programs is needed. The candidate should work well as part of a team and also be self-directed, conscientious, punctual, dependable, and organized. Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.

Sound Technician

Location: Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center

*Ability to run cables and secure microphones in a safe and professional manner and as event requires

Candidate Requirements:
The qualified candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience effectively running analog soundboards. Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of microphone techniques. Candidate should also possess the ability to work well with a variety of personalities while maintaining a positive attitude even in highly stressful or time sensitive situations. Light Technician

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience effectively programming and running ETC light boards. Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of conventional stage lighting. Gallery Supervisor/Tour Guide

This is a part time position for the summer exhibition of “Wayne White: Art is Supposed to Hypnotize You or Something” exhibition.
DEADLINE: Friday, May 15, 2015

Exhibition Period:
June 13 to August 23, 2015

Hours:
Wednesday through Friday 9:45am – 5:15 pm
Saturday and Sunday – 11:45am – 4:15 pm
Part-time, Hourly ($9.00 per hour) 1 hour lunch unpaid
(This position may be filled by 1 individual or can be split between 2 people)

Responsible For:
This is a family exhibition, during which the Center expects to have very high numbers of attendance. The safety of all visitors to the show, as well as all staff and volunteers in addition to the works in the show is of the utmost importance. Overseeing the Center’s gallery areas; responding to and booking all field trip requests in a timely fashion; overseeing “gallery monitor” volunteer staff, making sure they are fulfilling their listed responsibilities and acting in accordance with all guidelines for their position as monitors of the show and activity areas.

Liaison with:
Curator of Exhibitions, Visitor Services, staff & management, general public, teachers, camp counselors, children and all visitors to the exhibitions.

Reports to:
Curator of Exhibitions

Primary Function:
To work in conjunction with the Center’s Curator of Exhibitions as well as all other related staff to ensure that the logistics of the exhibition: field trips, gallery exhibition areas, interactive room and gallery monitors are all managed to run efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates booking and following through of all field trip requests, makes sure that all field trips are booked in an organized fashion according to guidelines and schedules. Informs front desk of all scheduled field trips and makes sure that adequate deposits have been secured at the time of booking.

Greet field trip buses, check in children and chaperones and give guided tours of the exhibition groups and individuals. Answers questions on an as needed basis for all visitors to the exhibit..

Oversees Gallery Monitors (volunteer staff) whose job it is to maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment during exhibition hours and at set up and close of the day.

Maintain the Interactive Activity area (working with Gallery Monitors) to ensure this area is kept orderly, clean, well supplied with fresh table clothes and art supplies as needed.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.

Requirements:
Candidates will be in direct contact with members of the public, mainly with children and families. A strong sense of organization, authority, responsibility and ability to communicate clearly is required. Also, the person we are seeking should be an upbeat, high-energy individual. The candidate should work well as part of a team. Must be able to pass Level 2 background check and is knowledgeable on computer (Word, Excel).

The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic and creative musical theatre directors to teach our Broadway Actors Summer Arts Camp program. The director will introduce acting, music, dance and creative production techniques to students ages 8 to 18. With guidance, the director will create a curriculum and use a copyrighted production kit. Each session culminates in a full-scale musical theatre production. Four week sessions. Monday through Friday, full day.

Elementary Drama Instructor

The Art and Culture Center is looking for enthusiastic and creative Drama Instructors to teach our Young Actor Summer Arts Camp program. Instructors will introduce a variety of drama techniques to ages 6 to 12. With guidance, instructors will create their own curriculum based on State Standards and a creative, original script. Each session culminates in a 30 minute production. The two week session runs Monday through Friday, in the morning 9:00 am- 12:00 pm.
