Art of Reading/Intro to Theatre Workshop

Sun, Jan. 20, 2008, 2:30 – 3:30 pm
ArtsPark Dance Studio

FTF’s “Art of Reading” workshop utilizes the energy, excitement and motivational factors of theatre performance while integrating literacy skills such as reading comprehension and oral expression. Cast members introduce students to the process of analyzing a script, including character background and motivation, physical characteristics, character traits, actions, reactions and interaction of characters. Students will be encouraged and coached on voice and movement while practicing reading scripts from the show aloud, which helps develop greater reading expression. Appropriate for ages 8-12. Free for members, $5 per child for non-members.

Both events take place at ArtsPark at Young Circle.
