Over two decades ago, Elisa Monte caught the world’s attention with a piece called “Threading” and her own ambitious powerhouse of a company. Today, the acclaimed Elisa Monte Dance has performed in more than 40 countries and is widely recognized for its highly athletic and sensual style and its technical and physical acuity. Elise Monte’s daring and intense choreography shimmers with physicality and virtuosity, showcasing some of the most memorable moments in modern dance. Pelvic contractions, balletic leaps, and rapid pirouettes are part of Monte’s style. She is also known for dark, churning, soul-searching dances as well as steamy duets that stir viewers’ passions.

“Physically intense and sensual…echoes classic styles without ever losing sight of the modern…” – New York Magazine

“ . . . a persuasive display of top-notch, utterly committed dancing and choreographic invention that spans more than two decades.” – Newsday
