The Center’s Visual Arts Studio is an after-school program in which students in grades 2-5 develop a vast range of techniques by linking classical and contemporary art. This program provides students a practical approach to art-making by applying their imagination, creativity, and learned skills.

Pre-School – Grade 5
The Center’s Visual Arts Studio Homeschool program is for students who are homeschooled and would like to participate in a group learning and art making experience.
Painting Fundamentals
Spring 2012
Evening Classes
This class will focus on essential fundamentals. While encouraging individual creativity, the emphasis will be placed upon what is inherent in a good composition, and a basic overview of color theory.
Clay Concepts

Evening Classes
A variety of handbuilding skills will be taught in this course to enable students to create ceramic sculptural objects. In addition to learning handbuilding techniques and the basic physicality of clay, the course will influence students by covering historical context of the medium while combining creation techniques.
Private Violin Instruction

Youth and Adult
Lessons will introduce parts of the violin, understanding of sound, pitch, and more. Additionally, these classes will strengthen student’s music vocabulary and appreciation. No prior experience required.
Private Recorder or Flute Instruction

These lessons will give students the ability to progress at their own pace, allowing them to gain full understanding of musical techniques, notes, vocabulary and music appreciation. No prior experience required.
Private Piano Instruction

These one-on-one lessons will give students the ability to progress at their own pace, allowing them to gain full understanding of musical techniques, notes, vocabulary and music appreciation.
Private Guitar Instruction

Lessons will introduce parts of the guitar, chords, strumming techniques, music theory, and more. Additionally these classes will strengthen student’s music vocabulary and appreciation.
Private Voice Instruction

Youth and Teen
Perfect to prepare for auditions and competitions. Private voice instruction develops proper breathing, stage presence and delivery, improves pitch and tone, and projection. Advanced students will perfect performance skills and can study effective techniques in classical, Broadway or contemporary music including foreign language selections.
Summer Arts Camp 2012
2012 Summer Camp begins June 11
Bring out the artist and performer in your child with visual, performing, and interdisciplinary programs at Summer Arts Camp. Each of the sessions allow children and youth to practice the skills they’ve learned while preparing for final exhibitions and performances.
ARTastic Field Trips
For a fun, engaging and creatively stimulating experience, schedule your next field trip at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, one of only seven major cultural organizations located in Broward County. The Center offers critically acclaimed international and regional contemporary fine arts programming. This season consists of 15 different exhibitions with diverse themes, featuring art in every medium from painting and sculpture to film, digital animation and more!
Integrated Arts Distance Learning
This one-of-a-kind program allows students to interact live with teachers, artists, and the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood’s exhibitions without leaving their classrooms, using multiple ISDN lines.
Student Exhibitions by Public and Private Schools, Universities, and Non-Profit Organizations
The Art and Culture Center opens its Student Exhibition space to teachers from both public and private school, universities, and non-profit educational organizations to allow them to display their students’ art work in a professional setting.
Parent Ambassador Program
The Parent Ambassador program allows parents to become involved in the community outreach efforts at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. Our goal in creating this program is for parents to work collaboratively with the education department staff to raise awareness about the impacts of arts education on youth and families while encouraging involvement in the Center visual and performing arts programs. The initiative includes:
- Promoting educational programming conducted by ACCH for youth, adults, and families
- Serve as a liaison between the Center and K-12 schools, community groups, and other parents
- Participate in dialogue with education department staff about current and future programming
- Present special projects to raise money for support of free/reduced tuition scholarships and other programming efforts
