Founded in 1972, New York-based Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company is an example of the best of the American melting pot. Modern dance techniques are employed, and the richness in background is such that the audience is treated to many different styles and influences. The dances range from urban life and pop culture to that of tribal influence, from abstract to the dramatic. Current Artistic Director Enrique Cruz DeJesus’ artistic goal is to incorporate his directing and choreographic styles to enhance concert dance with a greater musical/theatrical format, giving the audience a dramatic feeling with a formal evening of art and entertainment.
“The Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company painted portraits in movement, the action gained emotional intensity.” – New York Times
“The proud commitment and fullout dancing by its talented members filled the stage with motion, color and passion. And hey, the crowd goes wild!” – Village Voice
