Rhythm and Rhyme Birthday Celebration

Join the celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday month as we use our bodies and a variety of instruments to explore the rhythms and rhymes of his wonderful stories and characters.

Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American writer, political cartoonist, poet, animator, and artist, best known for authoring more than 60 children’s books under the pen name Doctor Seuss. Born on March 2, 1904 he published his first children’s book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937. Next came a long list of best sellers, including The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lorax, and Green Eggs and Ham. His work received a Pulitzer Prize in 1984 and three Academy Awards. His rhymes and creative characters are beloved by generations.
