2017 Summer Arts Camp a Resounding Success

The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood would like send a heartfelt thank you and a big round of applause to everyone who helped make our 2017 Summer Arts Camp a resounding success.

The dedication of our participating families, arts instructors, donors and community members to the importance of high-quality arts education made 2017 one of the Center’s most successful camps yet. We were privileged to have so many families entrust their children to us during our 10-weeks of camp.

The arts make a difference and we saw this every day in the joyous smiles of our campers and their families.

This summer, we recorded 261 enrollments in 18 unique camp sessions in the visual and performing arts for ages 4-16. Thanks to our funders, the Center provided financial aid to 25 campers. We employed 35 positions for professional arts instructors who were assisted by two interns and 14 high-school students who contributed nearly 3,000 work hours as part of our Teen Arts Ambassadors program.

One parent shared with us, “This camp was definitely a life-changing experience for our girls. One conquered her fears of being a joiner and received this incredible gift of pride. … The other found a safe place to embrace her natural desire to do what she loves and SING!”
Another said, “The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood’s summer camp provides a great opportunity for kids to experience theater and design art in a very energetic and positive atmosphere. We found all the instructors to be knowledgeable, respectful, positive, energetic, and caring.”
With the school year now upon us, the Center’s education staff is busy preparing a variety of programs for students of all ages that begin in the coming weeks.
